Meet Laura

Laura Drake is a Licensed Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience supporting youth and families. As a former juvenile probation officer turned policy director, she has spent her career championing systems change and advocating for the most vulnerable. Laura’s passion for social work was born from her own personal journey, navigating profound grief and loss, coming out, divorce, and ultimately, rebuilding. Through those lived experiences, she found not just resilience but a calling: to walk alongside others in their own paths to healing. 

She specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults facing life’s challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, family stress, behavioral concerns, and system involvement. Laura is passionate about supporting marginalized communities, including the LGBTQIA+ population. She is trained in trauma-informed care and integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and play-based methods into her practice. Her approach is grounded, compassionate, and informed by both clinical expertise and real-life understanding.

“Therapy isn’t about fixing people, it’s about honoring their experiences, offering safety, and helping them move forward in ways that feel right to them. I want every client to know that they matter, they’re not alone, and that healing doesn’t have to be scary. 

Outside the office, you can usually find me elbow-deep in my garden, planning our next travel adventure, or enjoying real conversations around the dinner table with my wife, Kristen, and our teen daughter. I find joy in laughter, comfort in connection, and renewal in simply slowing down and being present. Life can feel overwhelming, but with support and connection, there is always hope.”
