Natalie Deputy, LSW is an expert therapist at Voyage Counseling in Brownsburg, IN.

Natalie Deputy is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio University and a Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University, Indianapolis.  Prior to joining the Voyage Counseling team, she worked at an outpatient mental health and addiction center and a child therapy practice.  Natalie approaches therapy through an attachment-based lens, recognizing the profound impact of our early relationships and the systems that shape us. She believes our identities and core sense of self are deeply intertwined with the environments we navigate.  Trained in multi-modal attachment therapy, Natalie integrates various approaches to support clients in exploring their relational patterns, healing past wounds, and fostering deeper connections with themselves and others.

Natalie loves working with youth but is most passionate about working with teenagers….the angstier the better!

Natalie specializes in body-image issues, disordered eating,  depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, suicidal ideations (SI), and trauma. Natalie believes that caretakers and families are valuable partners in the therapeutic process and prefers to take a collaborative approach to meeting the needs of the youth and families she works with.

Natalie also enjoys working with individuals of all ages who are navigating life with anxiety, ADHD, substance use, school issues, life transitions, struggles with emotional regulation, and specific phobias. Natalie also values working with adoptees, adoptive parents, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Natalie is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), specializes in treating individuals experiencing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related conditions. ERP is a highly effective, evidence-based form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that helps clients gradually confront distressing thoughts, fears, or situations while learning to resist the urge to engage in compulsive behaviors or avoidance strategies.

Her approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a deep respect for each individual’s unique experience. She works with each client to develop personalized treatment plans that build resilience, reduce fear-based responses, and empower them to regain control over their lives. Through structured and supportive ERP interventions, she aims to help clients break free from the cycle of anxiety and compulsions, fostering greater confidence, emotional flexibility, and long-term well-being.

In her own words:

“I would describe myself as energetic, creative, passionate, empathetic and just a tad bit weird (in a good way!)  Somewhere along the way I went from being a 15-year-old glaring in silence at the therapist that my mom brought me to against my will, to sitting on the opposite side of the room as the therapist with some equally unhappy teenagers. I struggled immensely in my adolescent years and am forever impacted by the therapists who crossed my path and were unphased by my hostile vibes. Slowly but surely, therapy allowed me to unravel my pain and allow light into parts of me that I thought had been swallowed up by all the darkness I felt. It is my hope in life to walk alongside others as they find the healing and joy that they are so deserving of – whether they believe that (yet) or not.

When I am not working, you may find me frolicking outside collecting rocks, taking cuttings of plants to bring home to my propagation station, playing either Animal Crossing or Dream Light Valley on my Nintendo Switch, or purchasing some useless but adorable trinket I found thrifting. I am always down for a side-quest and love unexpected adventures. At the office, you will likely find me with a Diet Coke in hand, a notebook full of doodles, and a squishmallow close by. You also may need to look close to the ground to spot me- I am very short.

I am deeply passionate about therapy and creating space where others feel safe to heal and be their most authentic selves. Hope is real, you ARE worthy, and you are not alone.”
