Meet Macy Griner, Brownsburg Indiana therapist for teens and young adults, and individuals dealing with trauma. Learn more about book with Macy now!

Macy earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southern Indiana in 2024 and her master’s degree in Social Work from Indiana University Indianapolis in 2026. Before joining Voyage Counseling, Macy worked with individuals of all ages in hospital and school settings. While working with all stages of life, she is most passionate about supporting teenagers and young adults in navigating life’s challenges while fostering resilience, self-awareness, and meaningful growth. Macy takes many approaches in her practice, but focuses on strengths-based, trauma-informed, person-centered, and anti-oppressive. She draws from systems and ecological theory to understand each client within the context of their environment, relationships, and lived experiences. Macy strives to create a collaborative, compassionate, and affirming environment where her clients feel heard, supported, and empowered

In her own words:

Ever since I was young, I’ve always felt deeply passionate about mental health and wished more people understood just how important it is to care for our emotional well-being. Becoming a therapist feels incredibly meaningful to me, not only because it’s something I’ve dreamed about for a long time, but because I now have the opportunity to support others in the way I once needed during some of my own hardest moments. I view therapy as having someone firmly in your corner, someone who will listen without judgment, show up authentically, and walk alongside you through whatever life brings. My approach is warm, laid-back, and genuine, with a strong focus on creating a space where we can both show up as our real selves. In our work together, there will likely be laughter, tears, hard conversations, healing moments, and everything in between. Above all else, my goal is to make sure every client feels safe, accepted, and empowered to express themselves freely and authentically in whatever way feels right for them.

Outside the office, you can usually find me curled up with a good book (or audiobook) at a coffee shop or somewhere outside soaking up the fresh air. I also am a big fan of movie nights at the cinema and binge-watching tv shows (anywhere from reality tv to anime). I love spending time hiking, running, thrifting with money I absolutely should be saving, and exploring new places with friends and family. I’m happiest when I’m in the sunshine (even if my skin strongly disagrees) lounging by the pool or walking my dog. I am a huge nerd at heart and could happily spend hours listening to people talk about the things they are passionate about. Whether it’s a favorite hobby, random fun fact, niche interest, or latest hyper fixation, I genuinely love hearing what lights people up and makes them feel most like themselves
